Présentation de l'Artiste:
Patrice Murciano est né à Belfort en 1969. Il vient s'installer à Montpellier dès son plus jeune âge.Passionné par l'art très tôt, il commence par reproduire des personnages de bande-dessinée dés l'âge de 6 ans, il continue ensuite à peindre ses premières muses (qui sont à l'époque des mannequins de magazine de mode) vers l'âge de 8 ans à l'aide du maquillage de sa mère qu'il pose sur l'envers des rouleaux à tapisserie abandonnés au grenier.
Il exposera sa première toile à l'âge de 12 ans lors d'une exposition collective. Inspiré par les nues romantiques du photographe David Hamilton, il ne cessera alors de peindre ces nus voilés jusqu'à lui-même se lancer dans la photo à l'âge de 16 ans.
A dix huit ans il participe à une exposition collective organisée par "Arts et Lettres de France" où il reçoit la médaille du jeune espoir. Il laisse de côté la peinture durant quelques années pour ne se consacrer qu'à la photo, portraits, nu, mode…
Patrice est essentiellement intéressé par la femme et l’érotisme. Cette femme « muse » il la reprendra en peinture en 1996 avec un style qu’il nomme « Courbisme » (petit clin d’œil au cubisme de Picasso qui fait parti des grands maîtres de la peinture qui, avec Basquiat et Pollock, inspirent Patrice), mais surtout en hommage aux courbes de la femme, Femme haute en couleur dont il exagère les formes.
Patrice détruit puis recompose cette femme qu’il veut « parfaite » dans cet équilibre de lignes, de courbes et de couleurs vives.
En 2010, il expose pour la première fois ses peintures « Courbisme » en galeries (Galerie Concorde à Paris), suivront en 2011 d’autres galeries en province mais également un musée à Bahia au Brésil le M.A.C, où il fera une donation en juin 2011. Suivront en 2012 une galerie à Bruxelles et une autre à Shanghai.
